Before the call.
How do engagements actually work?
There are three domains (Operations, Talent & Hiring, People & Development) that describe what the work covers. There are three ways to work with us: a fixed Operator Review, a Foundation project, and ongoing operations or fractional support, plus scoped project work for specific builds. Any domain can be delivered through any of them. You don't pick a domain off a menu, you bring the situation and we scope it.
What does it cost?
The Operator Review is a flat $500, an experienced read on whatever you bring, from your operations to an employee survey or a vendor agreement, with clear, prioritized guidance. A Foundation project starts at $3,500. Ongoing operations and fractional support start at $2,000 a month. For lighter or one-off help, work is also available hourly, with urgent and employee-relations work at a higher rate. Larger scoped builds and embedded roles are quoted after a short call, because they scale with your size and stage.
Why isn't every price on the page?
The fixed and starting prices are here. Larger scoped builds and embedded roles are quoted after a thirty-minute call, because a Foundation project at a 20-person startup and a 75-person company are different jobs. You get a real number in writing, not a guess off a template.
What's the difference between the ways to work together?
Depth and duration. The Operator Review is a one-time read that gives you clear, prioritized guidance. A Foundation project takes one area, like hiring or operations, and builds it properly. Ongoing support puts a fractional Head of Operations or People in the seat, month to month, with no minimum. Hourly and urgent help is there for smaller, one-off needs.
How does pricing work for hiring and placement?
Recruitment is priced per search rather than as a flat package, because roles vary so much. For most senior and executive searches that means an engagement fee to begin, plus a success fee when the hire starts, either a percentage of first-year salary or a flat fee per hire, whichever works out better for you. Building a hiring system or filling several roles at once is usually scoped as a project or ongoing support instead. You get the exact structure in writing after a short call.
Do you do hiring and comp and training, or just operations?
All of it. Org design, mass hiring, compensation, performance, training and facilitation, vendor negotiation, terminations, cross-border. Those live inside the work, not outside it.
Is there a minimum commitment?
No. The Operator Review and Foundation projects are fixed-scope. Ongoing operations and fractional support has no minimum, you stay because it works, not because a contract says so.
Do you replace our HR person or our lawyer?
Neither. We augment an existing team or stand in where there isn't one. Legal drafting and review of anything contractual stays with your own employment counsel, where it belongs. We build the operating system around the documents, not the legal instruments themselves.
What size and stage of company do you work with?
Solo founders, co-founder teams, and leadership at companies of roughly fifteen to seventy-five. Funding-agnostic: venture-backed, private-equity-backed, and bootstrapped. Smaller and solo founders are a fit for the Operator Review.
Where do you operate?
The United States and Canada, including multi-state and cross-border work. Coverage detail is on the About page.
How is the first call structured?
Thirty minutes, no deck. You tell us where you are, we tell you what we'd do about it whether or not you hire us. It's an intro call, not a sales pitch.
Whether you're a solo founder, a co-founder team, or a growing company, there's a way to work that fits your stage.
